Andrea Varellie, PT

I’m Andrea Varellie, a Physical Therapist dedicated to treating each patient with a focus on their individual needs. I truly love what I do and find great joy in helping my clients reach their goals and return to active, fulfilling lives.

Over the past 30 years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including orthopedic clinics, schools, and rehabilitation facilities. I have a special interest in working with patients who have complex conditions, and I’m certified in pediatrics, which allows me to work closely with children with special needs.

I’m also trained in the McKenzie Method and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University. When I’m not working with patients, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, hiking, and relaxing at the beach.

Angelo Scarpati, PT, MSPT

I'm Angelo Scarpati, a physical therapist specializing in orthopedic and sports injuries, with a strong focus on helping athletes of all levels reach their peak performance. With over 24 years of experience, I’m also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Mechanical Diagnostic Therapist through the McKenzie Institute.

I founded Optimal Physical Therapy & Performance Institute, which served the Somerset Hills area for over 20 years, and later expanded with a second facility at the Baltusrol Golf Club Learning Center. Throughout my career, I’ve pursued extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy and orthopedic sports medicine. I also had the opportunity to work alongside my mentor, Bill Parisi, at Parisi Speed School for five years.

I continue to provide physical therapy services throughout the Somerset Hills region of New Jersey and regularly consult with local schools on injury prevention. I also enjoy guest speaking at sports medicine panels and sharing my knowledge with others in the field.

Barbara Reuven, PT

My name is Barbara Reuven and I am the Clinic Director of ActiveCare’s Denville office. I have 37 + years of experience in Physical Therapy, a profession that I continue to enjoy and grow with. I have extensive experience treating athletes of all ages, total joints, low back and neck pain, lymphedema, infantile torticollis, and neurological problems such as stroke and Parkinson' Disease. My additional certifications include Structural Integration (Rolfing) and LSVT Big.

A little more about myself includes a bad cycling accident in 2008 in which I broke my neck both arms and pelvis. I was able to work on these injuries and completed a full Ironman in Lake Placid in 2014. I know what it is like to be the patient as well as the therapist.

My attitude is to tell people they are able to recover and return to whatever they want to do. My mantra is yes you can!!!!

Vincent Gengaro III, PT, DPT

Hi, my name is Vincent Gengaro III and I have been working for ActiveCare Physical Therapy since 2012 I’m the Clinical Director of our Dover office. I graduated magna cum laude from Quinnipiac University in 2009 with my bachelor's degree in Health Science Studies and received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac in 2011. I have experience in the rehabilitation of many orthopedic conditions including post-operative care, spine rehabilitation, and injuries to the shoulder complex and lower extremities. My passion is to use my knowledge in sports medicine and orthopedic manual therapy to optimize the rehabilitation of operative and nonoperative sports injuries.

I am a certified Mulligan Concept Practitioner (CMP) which is a manual therapy treatment approach that uses joint mobilization with active movement or function. I am also certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), and the Y-Balance Test (YBT).

I use an individualized approach of manual therapy, neuromuscular re-training, and strength and mobility exercises to achieve your goals for rehabilitation.

Christopher Jones, PT, DPT

I'm Christopher Jones, a physical therapist since 1997. I hold a B.S. from Northeastern University and earned my Doctorate from UMDNJ, which is now part of Rutgers University. Throughout my career, I’ve taken over 50 continuing education courses, taught at Montclair State University, and earned certifications in Kinesio Taping and clinical instruction.

As a Certified Mulligan Practitioner, I specialize in orthopedic treatment, using a combination of hands-on techniques and personalized exercise programs to support recovery and prevent future injuries.

Glenn Stackhouse, PT

I'm Glenn, a lifelong resident of Morris County and a proud graduate of Dover High School, class of 1981. After completing my enlistment in the United States Air Force in 1990—where I was honored with the USAF Commendation Medal—I pursued a degree in Physical Therapy at Kean University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1994.

From 1994 to 2001, I worked in a variety of settings, including acute care, home care, and outpatient orthopedics. Since 2001, I’ve been part of the team at ActiveCare Physical Therapy. I feel truly fortunate to have grown with the organization over the years and to serve the community I’ve always called home.

In addition to my orthopedic work, I’m a certified school therapist with extensive experience supporting developmentally disabled students. For the past 23 years, I’ve worked as a school physical therapist at the Matheny School in Peapack, as well as in the Mendham Township and Roxbury Township school districts. I also had the privilege of serving the state of New Jersey through the Early Intervention system from 2004 to 2013.

Hannah Simon, PT, DPT

My name is Hannah Simon. I grew up as a competitive dancer which led to my love of the science behind movement. I went to Temple University where I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and then attended Rutgers University where I received my doctorate in physical therapy. I have treated patients as young as 8 and as mature as 93 years old. I have a history of working with a variety of cases: workers' compensation, auto accidents, sports injuries, and overuse injuries.

Lucy Quesada is our Head Physical Therapy Aide who assists us in the treatment of patients while focusing on their individual needs. Lucy has worked with patients ranging from adolescence to seniors and understands how important it is to help them achieve their goals.

Welcome...I am Dr, Lydia Millner PT, a graduate of UMDNJ, and am dedicated to utilizing physical therapy treatment to assist patients in achieving their goals for rehabilitation, prevention of injury, and wellness. I have been treating orthopedic concerns/injuries, joint replacements, musculoskeletal disorders, neuromuscular disorders, concussion, vestibular and balance dysfunction, and autoimmune and chronic pain syndromes throughout the patients' lifespan from ages 3 thru 102. I have completed specialized training in ART, Dry Needling, Mulligan mobilizations, Kinesiotaping, Neurodynamics as well as studied MacKenzie approach and Hippotherapy.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, am an avid equestrian, and enjoy hiking, boating, reading, piano, and ballroom dancing.

I’m Dr. Mariya Khalaboura, a Physical Therapist committed to providing patient-centered care and designing treatments that align with each person’s individual goals. I have clinical experience working with a wide range of conditions, including orthopedic and sports-related injuries, joint replacements, overuse injuries, and various musculoskeletal and neuromuscular issues.

I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy from Widener University in 2020, graduating with honors.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, hiking, biking, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Martha Cotton, PT, DPT

My name is Martha Cotton and I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I received my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Biology from Rutgers University and continued on to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Long Island University. With over a decade of experience in the orthopedic setting, I have honed my skills in assessing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. In addition, I have experience treating neurological conditions and have a certification for the Parkinson's LSVT treatment protocol. I completed training through Herman and Wallace and am specialized to treat pelvic floor dysfunction. I am especially passionate about working with women throughout their pregnancy and post-partum journey, as well as those experiencing pelvic floor dysfunctions.

I am currently in the process of completing my Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist certification (PCES).

My goal is to provide my patients with individualized care and treatment plans that address their specific needs and help them achieve optimal physical function and quality of life.

My name is Michael Urbanowicz and I am a licensed Physical Therapist dealing with the prevention and treatment of illness and injury. I received my degree from UMDNJ in 1983 and subsequently obtained certification to treat TMJ dysfunction from UMDNJ Dental School. I have a 39-year history of treating orthopedic and neurological conditions which I find very satisfying and gratifying.

My interest and participation in weightlifting integrate nicely with providing physical therapy to my patients.

Payam Zarrinpour, PT, DPT

I'm Payam Zarrinpour, and I've been part of the team at Active Care Physical Therapy since 2016. I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, where I was also an All-American Division I NCAA wrestler.

My background as an athlete, combined with advanced clinical skills in orthopedics, has allowed me to create personalized rehab and injury prevention programs for athletes across a wide range of sports. That said, my experience goes far beyond the athletic population—I work with individuals of all ages, including adolescents, middle-aged adults, and seniors, helping them build strength, improve flexibility, and regain functional mobility.

To support my patients' recovery, I’ve pursued continued education in areas like vestibular rehabilitation, Kinesio taping, muscle energy techniques, the McKenzie Method, and Neurodynamics.

I’m a Physical Therapist with over 15 years of Physical Therapy experience in multiple settings, including outpatient, home care, subacute, and hospital-based therapy. I earned my bachelor's degree in Health Science Studies and my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University. I enjoy treating a wide variety of conditions from post operative care, low back and neck pain, shoulder injuries and hip and knee injuries. I focus on manual therapy. I work hard with his patients to achieve their goals, whether they be returning to sports, reducing pain or getting back to normal daily activities. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 3 children, reading and playing golf.

Shane Connors, PT

I'm Shane Connors, and I've dedicated my career to helping patients overcome orthopedic challenges and return to the activities they love. Since earning my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in 2011, I have spent over 14 years exclusively in the outpatient orthopedic setting, giving me extensive experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with patients recovering from various orthopedic injuries and conditions, from post-surgical rehabilitation to sports injuries, chronic pain management, and everyday movement dysfunctions. My years of focused practice in outpatient orthopedics have allowed me to develop a deep understanding of how the body moves and heals, and how to create individualized treatment plans that address each patient's unique needs and goals.

What drives me most in this profession is witnessing the transformation that occurs when patients regain their strength, mobility, and confidence.
